Excellent communications throughout the entire booking process. Knowledgeable, passionate guides taking us from the cafe up to the restaurant. We learnt a lot. Kayaking to the waterfall was a great ‘extra’ to the experience. Extremely comfortable, quality accommodation. Private and peaceful. The only negative - unfortunately there were no beside lamps in our Ruapehu Room. Superb views in all directions. The warm welcome at the restaurant with the staff introducing themselves to the group. Outstanding food for our dinner that was prepared and presented by Jack and Alexi (sp?) with the utmost care. Clover’s superb knowledge of the wines and her quiet professional interactions with us. And back to the amazing food … after the first taste of «Rosemary’s Garden» which set the bar high, we looked forward to the following courses with great anticipation, and were not disappointed. The wines matched them all beautifully. One of our favourite courses was the « smoked tomato consommé » and I just wanted to keep savouring it and didn’t want it to finish. I tried to replicate it yesterday, using the last of our home grown cherry tomatoes and was really pleased with the outcome. It’s still a work in progress but for a first effort everyone loved it. Thank you for the inspiration. We have already told our friends how much we enjoyed this experience. All the best with the future.
