COVID-19 Policy The Chefs Table continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation and follows guidance from the New Zealand Ministry of Health and World Health Organization (WHO). As a business it is our utmost responsibility to prioritise the health and safety of our guests and staff above all else. With this in mind we do not operate or open during times when the New Zealand COVID-19 alert level is above level 2. We will be open and operating within the strict government safety guidelines at alert levels 1 and 2. In the event of COVID-19 legitimately affecting your reservation, your booking can be transferred to new dates of your choosing within 12 months of your original booking, at no additional cost. If you choose to cancel your reservation, then a 25% cancellation fee is applicable.

How do I cancel my reservation and what could I be charged? Cancellations can only be made by emailing us using the details provided in your confirmation email. Where possible, we will try our best to resell tables or rooms when we receive cancellations. If you have any further questions please contact us at reservations@thechefstable.co.nz. We ask that prior notice of 30 days from the date of reservation is given should you wish to cancel or change your reservation. Where we are successful in reselling your cancelled table or room, we will refund you the full amount taken from your card, any reductions in number may still be liable to payment of the cancellation fee.

Do you have a waiting list to which I can be added? Yes, if there is a day you are interested in but it’s fully booked it is also possible to add yourself to our waiting list online by clicking on your desired date. We receive cancellations daily and if a table becomes available we will contact you in advance to confirm.

If I have a question about an existing reservation? If you have a question or wish to make changes to an existing booking please email us at reservations@thechefstable.co.nz

Will I receive any other communications regarding my reservation? Yes. Once you have made a reservation you will receive a confirmation email. 3 days prior to your reservation date you will receive a reminder email.

What are the restaurant opening times and days? Dinner service begins at 6:00pm Friday through Sunday. Reservation only. Bush safari departs at 3:00pm.

What time do I need to arrive at Blue Duck Station for my Chef's Table reservation and what happens if I am running late? All guests must arrive at Blue Duck Station Café by 3pm in order to begin your ATV bush safari up to The Chef's Table from the café. We kindly ask that guests arrive at 3pm. If you have not previously been to Blue Duck Station, please note that the journey from Owhango to the station consists of 18km of gravel road section. 4WD is not required however, the journey from SH4 to Blue Duck Station can take up to 1.15 hours conservatively. Arriving more than twenty minutes late may result in missing part of your experience. Please email or call the restaurant if running more than 15 minutes late, there is no mobile coverage after leaving SH4.

Where is there to stay? The Chef's Table offers 3 luxury cabins adjacent to the restaurant. Each cabin accommodates 2 diners.

Can I drive myself to the restaurant? The Chef's Table is only accessible by ATV or helicopter. Feel free to bring your own mountain bike should you wish to cycle to the restaurant, a guided horseback tour is also an option upon request please email reservations@thechefstable.co.nz to inquire.

What is on the menu? At The Chef's Table we have chosen to offer just one distinct and considered set tasting menu to all guests for dinner. Our menu is constantly changing with the seasons and consists of around 10 separate servings.

What drinks are available? A wine pairing option is available on the night for $160.00 per person consisting of carefully selected wines matched to the dishes. Alternatively, we have wines available by the glass and by the bottle as well as beer, cider, spirits and non-alcoholic options.

How do I pay for drinks on the night? We are seperate from Blue Duck Station. Can accommodate all other payments at the restaurant when you depart.

Can you accommodate allergies or other dietary restrictions? We are not able to accommodate vegan menus or a fully dairy free option. Allergy or dietary restrictions announced on the night without prior notice may result in a shortened menu. We would ask that you advise us at the time of booking of any dietary restrictions via email at reservations@thechefstable.co.nz so advance notice can be given to the kitchen.

What should I wear on the ATV Bush Safari? The ATV Bush Safari is an outdoor adventure. It is advisable to bring outdoor wear and/or gumboots depending on the forecast.

Do you have a dress code? Even though The Chef's Table is a formal restaurant we have a relaxed atmosphere and as such we have no specific dress code. However, we encourage our guests to dress smart-casual. A jacket for men is not required.

Are children allowed in the restaurant? Younger guests over 12 years old are welcome at The Chef's Table. Although, as we are a small restaurant we do not have the floor space to accommodate pushchairs, prams or bassinets. We do not have a children’s menu available and all children will be required to have the same menu as the adults at the restaurant.

Do you have access for wheelchairs? Yes, we have step-free access for wheelchairs in the restaurant, and bathroom facilities for wheelchair users.
